How do I build a great Host profile?

At SpotMe, we have profiles for all community members because we want to get to know each other! Whether you're listing a space for rent or hoping your Host accepts your reservation request, solid profiles benefit everyone.

Check out some tips for your profile:

1. Choose a great profile picture. Community members want to know the person behind the screen.

2. Be yourself. Let your personality shine through and provide more information about yourself. Why are you on SpotMe? What are your interests?

Adding more information about yourself in your description and a good profile picture instills more confidence with other community members.

How do I verify my email?

When creating an account on SpotMe, each user or member must undergo a verification process that includes official identification, phone number, and email. These steps contribute to the security of our community.

When you create your account on SpotMe, we will automatically email the address you provided.

If you can't find the verification email, you can check your spam folder or request a new one as follows:

1. In your profile, you can see the email you registered.
2. Click on "Resend Verification Email."
3. Once you've received the email, follow the steps to verify your account.

How do I verify my phone number?

To view your SpotMe messages, you will need to verify your number.

For security reasons, both Hosts and Renters need to go through this verification process before they can send messages through the SpotMe community. Additionally, SpotMe uses your number to send you an SMS when you have a new message on your profile. If you are a Host, you will also receive a message when there is a rental request for your listings.

To verify your phone number, you need to:

1. Visit your profile.
2. Add your phone number.
3. Click on “Verify Phone Number."
4. Wait for the verification code to arrive via SMS and enter it on the site.
5. Click to verify again.

You are now ready to send messages on SpotMe!

How do I verify my official ID?

During the verification process of your SpotMe account, you will need to confirm your email, phone number, and official photo identification. This procedure is carried out for the security of all community members and is a requirement for both Hosts and Renters.

We use cutting-edge technology employed by other companies worldwide for this verification process. Your data is processed securely and won't be shared with anyone. You can verify your profile using a passport or a voter ID card (INE).

Viewing and responding to a message on SpotMe

You've received a message on SpotMe! What do you need to do now?

To read a message:

1. Go to the Messages section in your profile.
2. Check the unread messages.
3. Reply in the box below every conversation and click the send button.
   
   

Facebook Group Community Guidelines

We already have a community of Hosts on Facebook. If you're not already a member, you can join.

As a restricted group for hosts, you can:

• Ask questions
• Share tips and experiences
• Provide feedback
• Learn about best practices as a Host

Avoid bullying or inappropriate comments

Let's make everyone feel safe. Offensive comments or any derogatory references to race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender, or identity are not allowed.

Avoid unnecessary promotions

Try contributing something to the community and avoid using irrelevant links or spam.

Respect everyone's privacy

This community is based on mutual trust. Any viewpoint is valid but may also be considered private and sensitive. What we share in the community should stay within the community.
