Scope of this policy
Applies only to SpotMe Now rentals (Annex A) — the standard monthly checkout. SpotMe Pro (Annex B) and Traditional (Annex C) rentals are governed by specific contracts negotiated with a specialist; reach out to your Account Executive or contact us.
Principles
What this policy is built on

Good faith
We assume both parties act in good faith. Cancellations due to force majeure or host operational issues are handled differently than discretionary cancellations.

Transparency
Before paying, you see the full breakdown: monthly rent, SpotMe commission, optional Chubb coverage, and any applicable charges.

Legal compliance
This policy follows Mexico's Federal Consumer Protection Law (LFPC) and the terms agreed at checkout.
Rules
Refund by cancellation type
Four scenarios cover the vast majority of cases. For anything not covered here, contact us directly.

Before rental start
Cancel before the agreed start date and you get a full refund of the monthly rent paid. The Chubb premium, if you purchased it, is non-refundable — coverage remains active for the purchased period.

First 24 hours after start
If after starting you find the space doesn't match what was listed (blocked access, wrong dimensions, undisclosed conditions), you report in the app. After validation, full refund applies.

Active monthly rental
Rentals are month-to-month. Cancel for the next cycle anytime from the app. The current month is not partially refunded — the space remains yours until the last day of the paid cycle.

Host-initiated cancellation
If the host cancels an active rental for reasons not attributable to you, you get a prorated refund for the unused days of the cycle and support to relocate to another marketplace space.

Processing
Timing and payment method
Credit or debit card
Refund to the original payment method in 5–10 business days, depending on issuing bank.
Bank transfer (SPEI)
Refund to the registered CLABE account in 2–5 business days after approval.
SpotMe commission
Commission is refunded proportionally to the refunded amount. Charges for services already rendered (identity verification, contract setup) are non-refundable.
Chubb coverage
The Chubb insurance premium is non-refundable. Coverage remains active for the purchased period, per Chubb's general conditions.
How to request
Three steps to request your refund
- 01
Start the cancellation in the app
From your reservation: 'Cancel rental'. State the reason and, if applicable, upload evidence (photos, receipts).
- 02
SpotMe validates and applies the rule
We review the case, identify the applicable scenario and confirm the refund amount and estimated date.
- 03
You receive the refund
Processed to the original payment method. We notify you by email and you'll see it reflected in your account based on bank timing.
Is your case more than a refund?
If there's a conflict between parties (damage, disagreement over the rental, evidence to submit), check our disputes and mediation policy.
