To keep you and the Renter secure and for us to be readily available to assist you in any scenario, we request that you keep all communication on our platform and exclusively accept payments via SpotMe.

This way, you can benefit from the safeguards provided by our Terms of Service, Host Guarantee, and Cancellation and Refund Policy.

Stripe is our PCI-compliant payment gateway, and it is used by thousands of merchants worldwide, including companies such as Amazon and Facebook.

This payment gateway uses state-of-the-art security tools and practices for the safety of the Host, Renter, and SpotMe.

With Stripe, SpotMe does not store personal information on our platform.

Our Terms of Service state that Hosts are not responsible for any damages that may occur to the belongings stored on their property unless they have acted negligently or directly caused the damage.

In rare cases where a Renter fails to pay or defaults, SpotMe guarantees up to two months of payment to the Host while the items remain in their spot.

We will contact you and the Renter, and in accordance with our Payment Protection Policy, SpotMe will take care of the missing payments.

Do I need special permission to rent out my space on SpotMe?

No. SpotMe does not require any permits or licenses to list your spots, and it is your responsibility to ensure you have full permission to rent out those spaces.

To receive your payments, you'll need to provide the bank account where you prefer the transfers to be deposited. We use Stripe, a secure and reliable payment gateway used by thousands of companies worldwide, some as large and prestigious as Amazon.

Follow these steps to link your bank account with SpotMe:

You can change your Stripe settings, including the account where you want your deposits to be completed, at any time.

At SpotMe, we facilitate the payment process for you. Simply share your bank account through Stripe, and we will charge the Renters.

We will pay on the first day of each 30-day period, during which we automatically collect payments from the Renters.

This way, we ensure that the rental period covers the payment for the entire month. 

Depending on each bank, it may take three to five business days for the payment to appear in your account.

You can check your payment history or see when you will receive your deposit in the Payment History section.

At SpotMe, we charge a small fee for each 30-day rent payment; this is charged to the Renters, not the Hosts.

This way, we can continue to provide you with the best service and keep our platform up to date.

Yes, at all times. SpotMe does not store or share any confidential information. All your data is processed through Stripe's secure servers, our payment gateway; it uses encrypted and PCI-compliant servers.

All income earned in Mexico is subject to tax fees, including the spaces you rent through SpotMe.

We recommend you consult your accountant or tax expert to resolve any doubts.

SpotMe or our payment server Stripe may request your RFC (Registro Federal de Contribuyentes) as part of the SAT's (Servicio de Administración Tributaria) requirements.

Your data is always treated with total security and only for the purposes mandated by law.

Does SpotMe notify the SAT of my payments?

No. At SpotMe, we only provide notifications about our company's actual income, not the Hosts' earnings.

We invite you to consult with your accountant or tax expert to learn more about the feed you must pay to the SAT.

What do I do when I don't see the payment in my bank account?

If you already expected your payment but didn't see it reflected in your bank account and you have already connected your account to Stripe, follow these steps:

Remember that you will receive your money at the end of the rental period every 30 days. Sometimes, it may appear in your bank after 3 to 5 business days.

Sometimes, Hosts don't see the payment because they need to update the information in their Stripe account.

3. Check if it is necessary to modify any tax or banking information.

You can do this in "Manage Host Payments" in the Bank Account section. After logging in to Stripe, make the necessary updates at the top of the control panel on your page.

4. If you find any errors in Stripe but cannot correct them, please get in touch with their support team.

How do I change the bank account connected to my SpotMe profile?

If needed, you can change your bank account at any time.

How do I correct errors in my Stripe account?

If you receive an error message when logging in, indicating that you already have an existing account on Stripe, follow these instructions:

If you still receive an error message from Stripe, you probably already have an account. You must use a new email address to connect your bank account with SpotMe to fix this.

Start the process again by clicking "Connect Bank Account" on SpotMe.

No. SpotMe does not allow Hosts to request deposits for rent, keys, or any item included in the rental.

All charges must be included in the final price of your listing.

No. You will receive your payments automatically month by month. This way, we avoid problems and confusion and can provide security and protection to both parties in their transactions.

Why can't I use cash, a check, or a different payment platform?

At SpotMe, we work to connect Hosts with Renters while protecting both. With our payment platform, we can resolve payment, item, rental, or user issues.

Setting up your profile is the first step to becoming a Host, as potential Renters will use it to get to know you. You've created a great profile if Renters like your profile and feel confident safely storing their items in your space.

A good profile should include your photo and a welcoming bio for Renters.

Hosts receive payments directly in their bank accounts through Stripe, our top-notch encrypted payment gateway. In the "Bank Account" section, click "Connect Bank Account" to start using Stripe and receive your payments.

SpotMe will not store any payment information on the platform.

Once your verification process is complete and your account is active, click "List Your Spot" at the top right corner to get started.

Follow all the steps, be very descriptive about your space, and upload the best photos of it. We will review it, and once it is approved, you can start generating passive income with your available space.

Here are some tips to help you rent out your space more quickly.

How do I know if someone is interested in my spot?

If a Renter makes a booking request, you'll receive an email and SMS on your phone. This way, you won't miss any updates and can start earning money as quickly as possible.

What do I do when a Renter sends a reservation request?

Once you receive the request, you'll have 24 hours to approve or reject it. To review the request and the Renter in detail, go to the "Spots" section and see what items will be stored in your space.

If not approved within 24 hours, the request will be automatically rejected.

Once you approve a reservation request, the Renter will be charged for the first month. Every 30 days, the SpotMe platform will automatically charge to ensure a complete payment period is covered.

How do I receive the payment made by the Renter?

The SpotMe platform will automatically charge the Renter each month. To receive the payment, you will need to provide us with your bank details.

If you need the Renter to move out, you must give notice at least 30 days in advance.

Anyone with available space who wants to generate passive income can be a Host. These spaces can be warehouses, rooms, basements, attics, parking spaces, or any other place where items can be stored.

How do I generate passive income as a Host?

You can begin earning income if you have space available and authorization to rent it out.

Encourage Renters to choose your storage solution by offering them a discount for the first month. This option is available from the moment you create your listing.

You'll still be paid the total price if the Renter stays less than 2 months.

Before meeting in person, please approve the reservation through SpotMe. Your exact address remains hidden until you accept the request, as it is crucial for the community to maintain your security.

If your listing is not booked yet, you can change the price, add new photos, and make other modifications directly from the "Spots" section.

Listings can be edited anytime as long as you don't have an active reservation. Once an active reservation has ended, you can only change features like address, price, and description. However, there are some alternatives if needed.

How much time do I have to approve a reservation request?

Hosts have 24 hours to respond to a reservation request. If more than 24 hours pass without a response, the reservation will be automatically rejected, and emails will be sent to notify both the Host and the Renter.
