How to enroll in optional Chubb coverage at SpotMe Now checkout, what it covers, how to file a claim, and why SpotMe doesn’t manage claims.

At checkout on SpotMe Now you can optionally purchase coverage issued by Chubb Seguros México. SpotMe is one of the few storage platforms in Mexico that integrates insurance from the booking flow.

the policy is issued by Chubb, not SpotMe. SpotMe is the distribution channel. If you have a claim, you handle it with Chubb directly — that’s the Anexo A §13 rule.

Coverages depend on the plan you choose. Generally they include Tenant Liability (damage to the Host’s property), Theft, Fire Damage, and Water Damage, with insured amounts and deductibles defined per plan.

If you have a claim, contact Chubb directly. SpotMe does not manage claims, does not mediate with the insurer, and does not represent the insured before Chubb. This is explicitly stated in Anexo A §13 of the Terms and Conditions.

Information on the claims process, deductibles, exclusions, and response times is Chubb’s responsibility and lives in their general conditions. Keep handy:

Chubb coverage is complementary, not an absolute substitute for care. There are typical policy exclusions (intent, misuse, undeclared goods, certain types of cargo, etc.). Read the general conditions before enrolling and keep an inventory of the goods you store.

Your booking works the same. You still have access to SpotMe’s mediation process, the Anexo A Refund Policy, and the right to escalate disputes to PROFECO. What you do NOT have is insurance protection against theft, fire, water, or civil liability — those events are absorbed by each party per the contract and the law.

Anexo A §14 details the Host’s liability: only damage from direct fault or negligence, excluding theft if the Host follows legal procedures (police report, etc.). See
